If you were a meal; what meal would you be & why?
Beer. Filling, classic, delicious and kind of a meal if you squint really hard and overthink it. Like a cocktail and a piece of bread in one!
If you had to pick one book to read right now what would it be & why?
Anything by Vonnegut because I'm always looking for a slightly inappropriate way to make myself laugh.
If you could play hooky for a day or two; what would you do?
Sleep. Take a class. Go outside and wander around in a forest or on a mountain.
What would you say is your favorite place you've visited/traveled to & why?
Either Paris or New Orleans. I love the great architecture and deep history of both cities and they each are full of life and excitement in their own ways.
If you had no ability to dance--what other art form would you choose?
Music. Even though I can't play anything, music has always played a huge part in my life.
What is your favorite dance memory?
The sense of accomplishment I achieved and the look on my parents' faces after performing my BFA culminating performance at Cornish.
What is your most embarrassing dance moment?
Losing a pastie onstage at Can Can. That is never fun. Or when I fell on my butt twice during the same number. That was terrible.
Who is/was your biggest influence as an artist?
I feel like my influences are forever changing, but there are some stable influences that will never change: Bob Fosse, Pina Bausch, Gene Kelly (and of course these are just dance influences, I could go on forever were I to include musical and character influences as well.)
When do you remember first saying, "I want to be a professional dancer"?
I'm sure I said I wanted to be a ballerina as a little girl, but I remember really wanting to make my future career dance in high school.
What excites you the most about Intrepidus' third season?
Working with the amazing females that I got to know last year, and getting to know each of them better.
